Atom Bank has hired two business development managers after launching its digital mortgages brand.

The bank has hired two field-based BDMs in Tim Gunning, who will be covering London and the South East, and Karen McGrath, who will be covering the North West and Northern Ireland.

Maria Harris, director of retail mortgages at Atom Bank, said: “Brokers have told us they value good BDMs, which is why we only recruit the very best to join our team.

Is robo-advice a threat or opportunity for mortgage advisers?

“We strongly believe that offering mortgages via intermediaries will give customers the best service and the best advice when choosing a mortgage.

“We have an experienced team of seven field-based and seven telephone-based business development managers to support intermediaries right across the UK.”

Gunning was a BDM for Lloyds Banking Group before working at Skipton Intermediaries for three years, while Karen worked as a commercial account manager at Mellor’s Group for three years, before joining Key Retirement as a BDM.
