AMI: Lenders will bounce back
The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries' (AMI) director general believes that lenders will come back stronger in 2008.
However Chris Cummings said that intermediaries and lenders need to unite in order to drive this comeback, supporting each other in order to ride out the current market climate.
Cummings said: “Ultimately, borrowers need reassurance that the lender is robust, and they will look to the intermediary to provide that reassurance. The role of a good intermediary is to stay close to developments in the lending market so they can properly advise their clients."
He also re-iterated that the difficulties being experienced by lenders are certain to only be temporary and that the more robust will see business come good once again in 2008.
