Nationwide Building Society has launched Nationwide Express, a desktop alert service for mortgage intermediaries.
The service will give mortgage brokers direct access to product and service updates, while also allowing quicker access to web-based tools.
Nationwide Express went live at the end of 2007 following intermediary feedback.
Once mortgage brokers have registered, they will have access to instant alerts on new rates, products and service enhancements; product withdrawals and lending criteria changes; and have the option to receive tailored information on house prices in specific region.
The alerts will also link to Nationwide Building Society’s affordability calculator, an A-Z on its lending criteria, and its remortgage calculator.
Peter Leydon, divisional director of prime intermediary lending at Nationwide Building Society, commented: “The feedback we have had from mortgage intermediaries is that they value clear and timely updates. They also require quick access to tools that will help clients complete their mortgage application.
"This service will make it quicker and easier for valued mortgage intermediaries, and their clients, to do business with us and help keep them up-to-date with the latest Nationwide Building Society offering.”
Steve Brockman, director at A2B Mtg Co, said: “Nationwide Express gives us more notice of what the building society is going to do, rather than having to wait for an e-mail alert. It’s handy and gives all the information intermediaries want.
"I’m surprised other lenders haven’t started to do it – I think it’s only a matter of time before they begin to introduce something similar. We all want this level of service. Any help lenders can give is worth having.”
