Green agenda 'needs to go further'
The financial services industry needs to embrace eco-friendly changes across the board, according to the Building Societies Association (BSA).
Speaking at the Creating and Marketing Green Financial Products & Services Conference in Amsterdam, the BSA's Neil Johnson said that today's consumers are looking for a green ethos which extends further than just the product range.
Johnson said that even though rates and service levels remained key, more and more societies were finding that customers were keen to see their environmental performance as well.
“Companies may be able to disregard the environment at the moment," he said. "However, times are changing, and if they are to be successful in the future they will need to ensure that their environmental impact across the whole organisation is minimised.”
