A new dawn for Network Data

3 March 2007

Alex Cotton explains her new role as chief executive of Network Data Ltd

For many years, perhaps more than most can remember, the public face of Network Data has been Richard Griffiths. Times are now changing.

Since the successful flotation of Network Data Holdings plc on the AIM market in September 2006, Richard has moved up to be chief executive of the group. After five years with the company, I have taken over as chief executive of Network Data.

I am keen to continue the growth of the country’s largest mortgage network. This can only be achieved by a close and co-operative working relationship with our members. We have long believed that we offer a more comfortable working environment to smaller broker firms, compared with the rigours of being directly authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Recent publicity has shown the FSA is imposing heavy fines on an increasing number of firms that are lax with Financial Promotions or audit trails.

We provide a layer of protection to intermediaries who would rather spend their time with clients rather than dealing with a paper mountain of rules and regulations.

The other companies in the group, particularly HIPSTAR Ltd, a major provider of Home Information Packs, allow us to generate free mortgage leads for our AR members.
