AMI begins election countdown
The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) has begun taking applications from those interested in joining the AMI Board.
With vacancies in the small and large network constituencies, and the large firm constituency also up for election, the trade body has confirmed that it is accepting applications for the positions.
Rob Griffiths, associate director at AMI, said: “A third of the AMI Board has to stand for election each year. There are currently vacancies in the small and large network constituencies, and anyone who works for a member firm in these constituencies can apply for the position. AMI seeks to involve its membership as much as possible with the running of their trade body. One way members can get involved is through our Board elections. Board members are responsible for AMI’s direction and policy and we hope that members in these three constituencies will want to stand and, if elected, provide input into the next stages of AMI’s development.”
He confirmed that the trade body had set a deadline of 8 May for applications.
James Cotton, mortgage specialist at London & Country, said: “AMI has an important role to play in the market. It is good that the people on the Board are active in the market and can properly represent and lobby on industry issues.”
