Blackwell to exit A&L

Mark Blackwell has been made redundant from his position as head of intermediary sales at Alliance & Leicester (A&L).
According to a spokesperson for the lender, the decision had been made following a review of Alliance & Leicester's senior management structure.
There are currently no plans to replace Blackwell, who joined the company from Cheltenham & Gloucester at the beginning of the year following the departure of Mehrdad Yousefi.
Senior management will now report to Raj Uppal, director of mortgage sales and operations.
