Chelsea withdraws range temporarily

6 May, 2008

Chelsea Building Society has decided to temporarily withdraw its intermediary mortgage product range until Friday 9 May.

This decision has been made due to unprecedented demand for products, leading to a high volume of mortgage applications from intermediaries, according to the lender. Chelsea's commitment to the intermediary market remains strong with a desire to maintain a high quality of service – something it couldn’t guarantee because of the demand.

The direct product range available through the branch network and direct mortgage sales department remain unaffected.

Intermediaries will be able to access a new product range from 9am on Friday 9 May 2008. Communication of the new product details will be issued via the usual channels in due course.

Jeremy Hicks, divisional director communications at Chelsea said, "Over recent weeks we have continued to receive a large level of business. We have made the decision to temporarily withdraw our mortgage range for intermediaries so that service levels are maintained."
