BuildLoan appoints Julie Johnston

BuildLoan, the intermediary arm of BuildStore, the self build and renovation mortgage specialist, has boosted its broker team by appointing Julie Johston, as key relationship manager.
Johnston was formerly at mortgage network Mortgage Intelligence for five years as head of mortgage products; prior to this, she spent twelve years at Halifax.
In the newly created role of key relationship manager, Julie will be tasked with developing and growing BuildLoan’s broker business among networks and clubs, in addition to providing broker companies of all sizes with an enhanced level of information and service, reporting directly to John Hay, the group’s head of financial services marketing.
Raymond Connor, BuildStore’s chief executive said: “To date the credit crunch has had only a limited impact on the self build and renovation market so this offers intermediaries opportunities. However, self build is more complex so Julie’s appointment is at an ideal time allowing us to provide intermediaries with an enhanced level of support. We are delighted to have someone of Julie’s calibre and experience on the broker team.”
