Flats leading price drop
The price of flats dropped by 3.6% in the month to June, according to the DCLG – far more than the average home.
The latest figures from the Department for Local Government and Communities (DCLG) show that this contributed to the price of the average home reducing from £216,625 to £215,029.
However, the figures show that prices still grew by 0.6% in the year to June, slowing for an eighth month in a row.
The figures also show that the average price paid by first-time buyers was down 0.5% at £159,606.
