Bright Grey launches underwriting service
Bright Grey has introduced a telephone interviewing process to gather medical evidence directly from clients as an alternative to requests for General Practitioner Reports (GPR).
The service will be run in partnership with Medicals Direct Group.
In circumstances where a GPR would currently be required for a particular condition, the client will now be contacted by phone and interviewed by a nurse from Medicals Direct.
A qualified nurse will gather information at a convenient time for the client about their condition and any treatment they have had. Because the necessary medical information is captured instantly, it means decisions will be made much sooner. Talking directly to a nursing professional also encourages clients to feel more comfortable answering personal medical questions and allows additional questions to be asked at the same time.
Robert Morrison, head of underwriting and claims commented: "We're always looking for ways to enhance our proposition and make working with Bright Grey easier for advisers and their clients. Our new telephone interviewing service will provide significant benefits in terms of improving processing times and reducing non-disclosure through more informed underwriting decisions.”
The launch of this new service will allow plans to start quicker, which in turn means that commission will be paid faster.
