Stock market falls below 4000
In early trading this morning the london market was down nearly 10 per cent as we followed the overnight downward trend of the eastern markets, where the Tokyo market suffered a reverse of 9.6 per cent, its worst day since the late 1980's .
Worries over a global recession are widespread at present leading to the sell off. Just five minutes after opening the market had gone from 4314 to 3879 representing a fall of over 10 per cent.
As of now (8.40), the market is edging back towards the 4000 mark, currently standing at 3984. One would hope that it has found a support level, although in the current climate it is far too early to say.
