ifs School of Finance Chairman appointed to lead Royal Mail
ifs School of Finance Chairman Donald Brydon has been appointed Chairman of Royal Mail.
Mr. Brydon will join the Royal Mail's board as a non-executive director with immediate effect before taking over from current Chairman Allan Leighton in March.
Mr. Brydon, who has chaired the ifs School of Finance since 2006, will continue his work at the ifs School of Finance until his three year term ends in November.
Phil Hall, Head of Media & Public Affairs at the ifs School of Finance said, "Donald has proved himself to be an incredibly good chairman at the ifs School of Finance, as has proved to be the case at various other institutions. I am sure that Donald will be equally successful in meeting the tough challenges that lie ahead at Royal Mail."
Mr. Brydon said: "The Royal Mail is one of Britain's great organisations and I am honoured to be ask to lead it in the next phase of its continuing modernisation.
I am delighted to be joining the board at this time and look forward to a positive involvement which will benefit our customers, employees and the taxpayer."
