More lenders want larger deposits
The number of mortgage products requiring at least a 25% deposit has gone up in the past month, according to figures from Moneyfacts.
The figures show that the number of products requiring a 0% and 5% deposit are unchanged at 10 and 3 respectively in the month March to April 09; the number requiring a 10% deposit are down from 101 to 93 products, whilst the number requiring a 15% deposit are up from 237 to 258. The number of products requiring a 20% deposit are down from 126 to 105, however the number of products requiring a 25% and a 40% deposit are up from 545 to 603 and 376 to 413 respectively.
