Management changes at Santander
Alan Mathewson has been appointed to a newly-created role of managing director of Abbey for Intermediaries and Santander Private Banking UK (onshore and offshore businesses).
Mathewson will replace Ricky Okey on AfI; Okey has decided that this is the right time to leave Santander. He also replaces Alvaro Morales who is moving to Miami to become chief executive officer of Santander Private Banking International.
Currently director of the bancassurance division, Mathewson will continue with this role through the important cross tax year periods, prior to taking up his new role, which is subject to FSA approval, on 1 May. In respect of his Abbey for Intermediaries responsibilities, he will report solely to Antonio Lorenzo. UK executive director.
