Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have launched a range of mortgages including a 5-year fix at 2.44% to 85% loan-to-value with a £1,499 arrangement fee.

Other products are a 5-year fix at 3.19% to 90% LTV and a 2-year fix at 2.19% to 90% LTV, both with a £999 arrangement fee.

First-time buyers can take out 3-year fixes at 2.89% to 90% and 3.99% to 95% LTV, both with £250 cashback.

Barclays cuts rates by up to 0.50%

The lender also has a range of no arrangement fee mortgages, including 2-year fixes at 1.89% to 60% LTV and 2.29% to 80% LTV, and 5-year fixes at 2.49% to 60% LTV and 2.79% to 80% LTV.

Helen Page, propositions and marketing director, said: “There’s never been a better time to fix your mortgage for longer with us. Not only do these new rates provide customers with certainty of knowing exactly what your mortgage will cost each month, many come with no arrangement fee.

“In addition our mortgage advisers have same day appointments available so there’s no need to hang about to get the best deal on the market.”

The banks have also introduced a ‘recommend a friend’ offer for Clydesdale and Yorkshire bank current account or mortgage customers where both the existing and the new customer earn £100 worth of shopping vouchers when the new customer draws down their mortgage.
