John Charcol manager Simon Collins in sex offence scandal

John Charcol has terminated the contract of Simon Collins after he admitted a string of sex offences including grooming an underage boy and possessing dog porn.

As Essex Live reports Collins, who was product technical manager of the mortgage broker, admitted 12 sex offences at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He persuaded an underage girl between 13 and 15 to send him indecent pictures of herself and he searched the internet for 'familial sexual abuse'.

He talked to a 14-year-old boy on platforms like Skype about them touching each other before arranging to meet up for sexual activity.

After splitting up with his wife Collins moved in with his parents, where he downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children as young as five.

He had 886 prohibited or indecent images of children, with 292 being the most serious.

He also held videos of intercourse with dogs.

Police searched Collins’ home, which he shared with his parents and brother, after receiving intelligence about his activity online.

The offences took place in a five year span.

Collins will be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on June 8.

Before working at John Charcol Collins was a mortgage adviser for Bradford & Bingley from 1994 to 2003.

He has also contributed to the Metro newspaper.

A John Charcol spokesman declined to comment but confirmed Collins’ contract has been terminated with immediate effect.
