Paul Nuttall quits as UKIP leader

Paul Nuttall has resigned as UKIP leader after his party’s vote share was decimated in yesterday’s General Election.

UKIP failed to gain a single seat and Nuttall himself came in third place in Boston and Skegness with 3,308 votes, around 24,000 behind the Conservative victor Matt Warman.

Nuttall has spoken of the party needing to rebrand but said there are good times ahead for UKIP.

He took over as leader from Nigel Farage in November.
