Aviva launches equity release DVD

Featuring three Aviva customers talking about their experiences, the new DVD has been developed using extensive consumer research. Former BBC Crimewatch presenter Sue Cook fronts the DVD, which includes information about the range of products and options available, advice from a financial adviser, and frequently asked questions.

Experts in financial planning for retirement, Aviva has helped more than 90,000 people release over £3 billion of equity from their homes during the last 11 years.

This latest move strengthens Aviva's pledge to grow its share of the equity release sector, following the decision by a number of providers to pull out of the market recently.

Clive Bolton, ‘at retirement' director for Aviva said: "We know most people have a picture in mind of how their retirement years will be, but not everyone has the funds to turn these ideas and dreams into reality. At Aviva we want to help people have the lifestyle they deserve in their later years. We would therefore encourage people approaching and in retirement to look at their full range of assets, including pensions, investments and property in order to make this happen.

"Equity release is one way of turning capital into cash. This new DVD and brochure helps people to understand more about their options, and decide whether equity release is right for them."
