Berkeley Alexander expands team

The general insurance provider has seen its sales via distribution partners increase by 66% on the same period last year.

The new business development team will support its intermediary partners, small agents and IFAs.

Alan Collinson, business development director at Berkeley Alexander, said: “We’re delighted by the growth we’ve achieved over the last year.

“We’ve invested significantly in our Home, Landlords, ASU/MMPI, and Commercial propositions in 2014, and have built some of the largest home insurance product panels available to advisers.

“This work has returned a dividend for us, and the new additional team of BDMs are testimony to that fact.”

Over the past year Berkeley Alexander was awarded the SimplyBiz ‘GI Partner of the Year’ for the second year running, attracting new leading insurers to its panel including AXA and LV=.

It has launched a number of additional new products on its online ‘quote and buy’ system, and has built a new white-labelled GI portal with a major distribution partner.

Berkeley Alexander plans to grow further in the coming months.

Collinson added: “We won’t be resting on our laurels.

“We’ll continue to improve and innovate, providing our intermediary partners with the very best service and support possible.

“This latest recruitment will significantly strengthen our team, and allow us to give even greater focus to those areas of the market where potential exists.”
