Ian will lead a team of seven, based in the head office in Reading, and will be responsible for all marketing activity, namely creating, developing, managing and promoting BIM's mortgage and general insurance product portfolios for both new and existing customers.

Ian's key responsibilities will include formulating a proactive marketing strategy to all consumer groups. Particular focus will be given to understanding the needs of brokers in designing initiatives, promotions and campaign planning, as well as analysing and identifying further opportunities to enhance BIM's competitive position.

Previously Ian was a national account manager with BIM, with responsibility for developing and managing relationships with key accounts in order to maximise business volumes; Ian was appointed to this position in July 2004.

He joined BIM in January 2000 as business development manager for the Home Counties, before moving to a similar role in Central London. In 2002 he moved to a sales manager role.

Before joining BIM, Ian held a number of intermediary sales roles within Yorkshire Building Society. Ian is 36 years old, and married without children.
