The rehabilitation service complements Bright Grey’s existing Helping Hand and introduces a greater degree of support for getting people back on their feet. Once it is decided that a claimant would benefit from the service, the HCML team will assess the needs of the client and assign a Rehabilitation Case Manager. The Case Manager will plan a programme of rehabilitation and recovery to help the person return as close as possible to their pre-injury or illness levels of health and fitness.

If a person has been away from work for a long time recovering from an illness or accident, it can be hard to get back into a daily routine.
“The NHS has recently given recognition to the fact that conditions such as lower back pain require assistance by offering complementary therapies to people whose pain is not improving. At Bright Grey, we also recognise that some people with long-term conditions require additional support to help them to move on.

Improvements to Bright Grey’s income protection offering:
• Maximum benefit increased from £75,000 to £150,000 a year
• Maximum benefit for house persons and those who are not receiving a salary, increased from £12,000 to £16,800
• Maximum Cover Increase Option increased from £3,000 per annum to £8,000 per annum
• Applicants can now include benefits in kind when assessing their gross annual earnings. (Benefits in kind is the name given to taxable benefits given by an employer, such as a company car, private medical cover or loans).
