Chestertons has record month

Estate agent Chestertons has experienced a record month for revenues.

The record September helped the company achieve its best Q3 results, up 11% on the same period last year.

Guy Gittins, managing director of Chestertons, said:“Our sales team are working harder than ever to put deals together and progress them through to completion and this hard work is reflected in these latest results, which everyone single person at Chestertons should be immensely proud of.

“Our sales figures show that while there are of course people hesitating and taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach to Brexit, there are also plenty who are not willing or cannot afford to put their lives on hold and are prepared to commit to purchases when the asking price is right.”

Its central London sales offices and lettings division enjoyed its biggest month and quarter in terms of tenancies agreed and revenue.

Richard Davies, head of lettings at Chestertons, added:“The summer is always the busiest time for lettings in London but this year has been more intense than ever as a shortage of rental properties across popular areas of London has created an ultra-competitive environment for tenants.

“We continue to increase our market share across London and have agreed a record number of tenancies in Q3 compared to former years, which has been achieved by our growing workforce and improvements in our processes and internal tech systems.”
