October 16, 2014

She is currently chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, where she has worked since 2010.

In her new role Mauger will oversee the organisation’s operations in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, while she will be based in Edinburgh.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining CIH and returning to Scotland.

“There is an extremely important time of political change ahead across all the devolved nations and it’s vital that the voice of CIH members is heard.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with colleagues and board members in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and across the whole organisation to ensure members get the best possible services and support to achieve our goal of decent, affordable homes for everyone in thriving communities.”

Mauger previously became head of libraries and heritage for the City of York and then chief executive of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council Yorkshire.

Grainia Long, CIH chief executive, said: “I am thrilled that we have appointed someone with Annie’s experience to lead CIH’s work in our national business units.

“The role is a critical one for CIH as we strengthen our offer to members in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and as we seek to ensure a strong independent voice for housing.

“This is a fantastic job and Annie has the skills and experience we need – we are all very pleased to have her on board.”
