Aldermore has promoted Claire Cordell from her role as director of finance to role chief financial officer.
She will also be an executive director serving on its board.
This follows the decision of James Mack, the current CFO, to leave Aldermore after six years. Mack will become the new CFO at Barclays Bank (UK) PLC from 3 February 2020. Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval.
Phillip Monks, chief executive of Aldermore, said: “I’m delighted that Claire Cordell, our director of finance, will become our new CFO and an executive director on our board. Claire is a highly experienced and immensely capable leader who was instrumental in supporting the bank through our IPO and, subsequently, our acquisition by FirstRand.
“Claire has been with Aldermore for over five years and having done such a brilliant job leading our finance teams it’s an absolute pleasure to promote her from within.
“James has made a very significant contribution to Aldermore over the past six years. He has worked tirelessly as our CFO to ensure the soundness of the Bank’s balance sheet and to place us in a great position to move forward with our ambitions over the next 5 years. I wish James every success for the future.”
Cordell joined Aldermore in March 2014 having previously held senior finance roles at RSA Insurance Group plc and with the Credit Suisse Group.
