Danske Bank UK joins IMLA

Danske Bank UK has become the latest member of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA).

Patrick Mullan, head of GB mortgages, will be the appointed IMLA representative. He will bring over 20 years of industry experience to IMLA discussions.

Mullan has previously also spent time at Northern Bank and Northern Assist Finance Ltd.

The addition of Danske Bank UK, which is part of the Danske Bank Group, means IMLA has a combined total of 59 full and associate members, spanning banks, building societies, non-bank lenders and mortgage service providers.

According to IMLA, its membership of 46 banks, building societies and specialist lenders include 18 of the 20 largest UK mortgage lenders.

Kate Davies, executive director of IMLA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Danske Bank UK into membership and look forward to hearing more from the team at our upcoming meetings and roundtable sessions.

"IMLA has long been the voice of a diverse community of lenders, and we look forward to hearing their views on a range of industry issues, and the association will no doubt benefit from the bank’s extensive knowledge.”

Mullan added: “We recognise the value IMLA brings to its members, and it will provide us with significant opportunities to collaborate with the industry, especially as we expand our mortgage distribution into the English market.

"We look forward to taking part in IMLA’s upcoming engagements, and meeting with its wider membership over the coming months.”

This comes after the news that Danske Bank UK is entering the UK market by making its carbon neutral mortgage available to residents in the South East, South West and East of England.
