Ecology Building Society appoints COO from Co-op

Ecology Building Society has appointed Martin Sims as chief operating officer from the Co-operative Bank where he held senior mortgage, distribution and network operations roles.

Sims (pictured), who also worked at Royal Bank of Scotland and HBOS, is replacing the retiring George Haslem.

Paul Ellis, chief executive of Ecology said: “I am thrilled to welcome Martin to Ecology. His wide-ranging and comprehensive experience will be a major asset to the Society.

Sims said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Ecology.
