EXCLUSIVE: Mortgageforce expands City of London premises

Derby and London centric aggregator Mortgageforce this week expanded into new premises in the City of London and announced plans to upgrade its lender panel.

Chris Batson, head of compliance and operations, said: “Despite the impasse over Brexit and the perception that the London market has regressed, there is still a huge demand for bespoke face-to-face advice in the square mile and its environs.

“That’s why we are adding lenders and brokers to our proposition and not back-pedalling."

Batson didn’t expand on suggestions that the enlarged premises will be home for brokers departing rival London firms having to make cutbacks, as it's understood John Charcol set in motion today.

He added: “We are not in the business of cannibalising other brands or peers.

“We have our own self-confident identity and culture, and if another firm is struggling then that's a news story that we'd actually prefer never to read about.

“Competition is healthy for us all and in fact drives enhanced customer outcomes.”
