FOS notes 128,200 new complaints in six months

The Financial Ombudsman Service recorded 128,200 new complaints received against firms between 1 June and 31 December 2019.

The complaints were against individual business.

Of the new complaints received in this data, 64,117 were about PPI.

Lloyds received the largest number of new complaints with 27,467.

This was followed by Barclays with 11,811, Santander UK with 6,705, HSBC with 6,543 and the Royal Bank of Scotland with 6,026.

The Financial Ombudsman Service upheld 35% of complaints of complaints resolved against firms.
