GISC compliance events - an opportunity for first-hand practical compliance guidance

These events will focus on the specific needs of smaller intermediaries, since this group formed the vast majority of those that expressed an interest in future GISC events. However, larger intermediaries, Lloyd's brokers and insurers/underwriting agents are also welcome.

There will be great emphasis on actions that can be taken 'back at the coal face' to help practitioners achieve compliance and plan for the future. With this in mind, these events will only be open to GISC members and applicants.

GISC has kept the price per delegate at just £75 for the day, including refreshments and buffet lunch. A place will be reserved as soon as GISC receives a delegate's completed booking form and cheque.

LONDON COMPLIANCE CONFERENCE

In addition to the regional events which focus on the needs of smaller practitioners, there will be a separate event in London on 11 November 2002 (to be held at the CII Insurance Hall, 20 Aldermanbury, London EC2). The content will include:

Compliance with GISC Competence & Training requirements - top tips for addressing common issues

Benefits of seeking accreditation for your Competence & Training regime

Financial Requirements

Private Customer Code

Compliance from a monitoring perspective

Protecting your business against complaints

Planning for the future

The content will focus on the compliance issues facing larger intermediaries, although all members and applicants are welcome. Once again, there will be great emphasis on actions that can be taken 'back at the coal face' to help practitioners achieve compliance and plan for the future, so GISC is inviting registration only from GISC member businesses, or those which have applied for membership.

Booking forms for the regional workshops and the London conference are available to print via www.gisc.co.uk/conferences. If you do not have access to the Internet, please call Anouska Hall on 020 7648 7817.
