The event, which raised over £10,000, is part of a pledge by advisory group Honister Capital to raise over £100,000 this year to support the valuable work of the charity.

With next to no combined cooking experience ‘Head Chef’ Alan Easter from Honister was ably assisted in the kitchen by Gary Shaughnessy, UK managing director at Fidelity International, Tom Sheridan, CEO of 7IM, Nick Cann, CEO of the Institute of Financial Planning, Robin Stoakley, head of UK intermediary business at Schroders, and Jason Ransted of Radcliffe and Newlands.

They cooked a three course meal for over 100 people, who then donated as much as they felt the meal was worth.

Alan Easter, strategy & business development director at Honister Capital, said: “I wouldn’t say the food was the best, or served on time! But it was all in a fantastic cause. To hear first hand from Captain Bernard Bambury about the vital work Help for Heroes is doing in supporting wounded soldiers was truly inspirational and will spur me on my way to Paris in our next fundraiser in July.

“Help for Heroes is the most amazing, motivational, humble group of individuals I have ever met. I am glad we are doing our small bit to support them.”

Honister has already held a casino evening, which raised over £20,000. Other planned events include a London to Paris cycle ride in July with over 50 people, which it is hoped will raise around £50,000.
