The website is designed to help students make sense of different sectors, jobs and roles.

The site aims at students between 14-21, from those choosing GCSE subjects to soon-to-be graduates looking to apply for internships and graduate schemes.

Alison Pask, vice principal at ifs University College, said: “From our work providing financial capability qualifications to schools across the country it became clear, that while many students are very interested in learning about potential career paths in the financial services industry, more resources were required in this area.

“This resource looks to break down the huge number of roles and sectors and explains how they fit in together.

“With that in mind we created My Financial Career to help students discover whether a career in financial services is right for them.”

The website offers CV writing tips for financial services roles, interview advice and live links to available roles across the industry. It also includes career pathways for professions as diverse as IT in financial services to mortgage and financial advice and also investment banking.

Pask added: “In recent years many careers advice services within schools have faced significant pressures and have not been given the investment or resources to provide a thorough grounding in industries such as financial services.

“My Financial Career will help schools bridge this careers advice gap and provide a dedicated resource to ensure their students can make well-informed choices about their future careers, whatever they may entail.”

A hard copy of the site is also available in brochure form.
