Standard Life launches online agency registration service

Standard Life has launched an online agency registration service for intermediaries eliminating the need for paperwork or ‘wet’ signatures.

Advisers with a valid FSA number can visit www.advisorzone.com and apply for an agency with the provider.

Peter Brutin, sales technology manager at Standard Life, said: “Over 20 firms have already used this service successfully. We think many more intermediaries will find it a welcome offering.”

Burgesses becomes British

Payment protection insurance specialist Burgesses Limited has changed its company name to British Insurance Limited and will be known by the trading name britishinsurance.com.

Any company wishing to incorporate the word ‘British’ into its title requires the approval of the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry and this is normally only given if the organisation can demonstrate pre-eminence in its field via supporting evidence from an independent source such as a government department or trade association.
