Ipswich adds to senior team
Ipswich Building Society has added Paul Johnson as finance director, Sian Hill as non-executive director and Lee Gladwell as chief commercial officer.
Prior to his new appointment, Johnson held the role of head of UK and divisional finance at Vanquis. He has also spent time as chief financial officer for Citi.
Hill’s appointment follows the retirement of Peter Elcock. Hill has largely worked as a tax partner at KPMG and is now a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
She also holds a non-exec role at Yealand Administration Limited and is a trustee and chair of the Finance & Audit and Remuneration Committees of Place2Be.
Meanwhile, Gladwell has cooperated with the building society before, providing consultancy services to the firm’s mortgage sales function.
Richard Norrington, chief executive of Ipswich Building Society, said: “We are pleased to welcome Johnson and Hill to Ipswich Building Society, as well as to congratulate Gladwell for taking on the position of chief commercial operator.
“Strengthening our senior management team and board is more important than ever during the current economic climate, and I’m confident our new appointments bring a diverse range of skills and experience to ensure the efficient running of the Society, while maintaining the interests of our customers and members.”
