Legal & General has appointed Ali Crossley (pictured) as managing director of partnerships for its insurance division.
She will join on 4 March 2019 from BGL, a distributor of insurance and household financial services, where she was managing director.
Bernie Hickman, chief executive of Legal & General Insurance, said: “Ali brings a wealth of experience and expertise in developing commercial partnerships which will further enhance and help position Legal & General as the number one partner of choice.”
Crossley is replacing Mark Holweger, who transferred to the US arm of the insurance division, Legal & General Insurance America, as chief executive in September 2018.
At BGL her responsibilities included the strategy and value creation of 14 affinity partner brands, including 02, RAC, M&S and Lloyds Banking Group.
She also oversaw business development for motor, home and life insurance under the Junction and Beagle Street brands.
Before this, she held a number of senior positions in Saga, Prudential, Barclays and Gillette.
Crossley said: “I am thrilled to be joining Legal & General at this exciting time of unprecedented opportunity in the life and mortgage markets.
“We have new entrants and established players thinking very hard about how to optimise customer experience right across the value chain.
“Legal & General is the leader in its fields for good reason and has a great reputation for delivering long standing, mutually beneficial partnerships. I am honoured to be joining such an impressive, dedicated and collaborative team.”
