LV= hires Debbie Kennedy to lead its protection business

LV= hires Debbie Kennedy to lead its protection business

Financial services mutual LV= has appointed Debbie Kennedy to lead its protection business.

The appointment is effective from 1 July and is subject to regulatory approval. Kennedy (pictured) will join the executive team and report to Richard Rowney, LV= chief executive.

Rowney said: “Debbie brings a real breadth of expertise in Protection to our business along with strong leadership skills having worked in a number of diverse environments.

“We have big ambitions for our protection businesses and with Debbie at the helm I’m confident we’ve got the right leadership to enable LV=’s continued success.”

Kennedy has a wealth of experience in the life insurance industry and joins LV= from MLC Life Insurance, based in Melbourne, Australia where she is general manager, business design and change, and was previously chief underwriting officer.

Prior to this she was group head of protection strategy at Royal London. Kennedy has also held a number of senior protection roles at Scottish Equitable, Swiss Re, AXA and Capita.
