NMBA secures government funding for its apprenticeship programme

TheNew Model Business Academy (NMBA), the not-for-profit training division of TheSimplyBiz Group, has received additional funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA) for its apprenticeship programme.

This will enable it to expedite its plans and open up further opportunities for financial advisers and paraplanners.

Richard Ardron, joint managing director of NMBA,said: “The apprenticeship programme, which was firstlaunched in April 2018,is hugely important to the NMBAand to the wider industry.

“The additional funding from the ESFA recognises our achievements in our first year of running the apprenticeship schemes, and we are delighted to be able to extend it to even more advisers, and advisers of the future.

“Bringing new blood into the industry is vital to two of the issues about which we are most passionate; ensuring the ongoing success of the financial advice profession and helping to increase consumer access to advice, and remains one of our core areas of focus.”

The academy has been working with advisory firmsacrossEnglandtoidentifyapprenticeship needs, whilst engaging with a number of external leading product providers to secure additional funding, on top of that received from the EFSA, to support its growth plans.

Thefully accreditedapprenticeship programme already has over 100 students in its financial adviser and paraplanner schemes, with a new cohort already enrolled for July and further cohorts planned for the autumn.
