Paymentshield has added UK General Insurance (UKG) to its home insurance panel.
UKG will be joining Allianz, AXA, Legal & General, Towergate, RSA Insurance Group and Zurich on the panel, increasing the total number of members to seven.
Founded in 2002, UKG is the UK’s largest specialist Managing General Agent (MGA), winning the Insurance Times MGA of the year award in 2014 and 2015.
The appointment, which took effect from 31 July, boosts competition among providers, increasing the number of eligible clients’ and providing even wider access our competitive panel.
Amanda Fox, proposition, digital and insurer relations director at Paymentshield, said: “We’re so pleased to welcome UK General Insurance to the panel and we look forward to working together to provide clients the protection they need.”
Paymentshield recently celebrated a record-breaking month for home insurance in June and the first six months of the year saw sales up 22% on the same period last year.
Karen Beales, chief executive officer at UK General, said: “Working with Paymentshield will allow us to give more customers access to comprehensive policies tailored to their needs, which is at the core of our business. Paymentshield places huge importance on advisers getting to know clients properly and identifying the perfect solution to suit their requirements – something we too hold in high regard. Such alignment in our values is sure to signal success. We look forward to getting started.”
At the start of this year, Paymentshield launched its ‘Bring Back the Conversation’ campaign to advisers aimed at highlighting the importance of talking to mortgage clients about their insurance needs. The hope is by strengthening the proposition through the addition of UK General, it makes it even easier for advisers to feel confident in their conversations around Paymentshield Home Insurance.
