Pikl hires deputy chair to its board

Insurance intermediary Pikl has appointed Angela Seymour-Jackson to its board as deputy chair.

Seymour-Jackson has held senior positions at AEGON, RAC and Aviva and is currently a non-executive director with various brands including Trustpilot and GoCompare.

Louise Birritteri, founder and chief executive of Pikl, said: “It’s a fantastic coup to have someone on the team that is so well respected in the industry as Angela.

“I have known her for many years and she has a great deal of top quality experience and many valuable industry contacts that will help Pikl’s development.

“This is another significant step in the rapid growth of Pikl that provides us with the expertise and support we need as we scale-up our business.”

Seymour-Jackson added: “It’s rare that you come across the opportunity to work on something so genuinely unique and exciting as this.

"To my eyes, there is a tremendous opportunity to provide an effective solution to a real 21stcentury consumer need, one that is currently being ignored or, at best, poorly catered for by conventional insurance.

“This an area of the market that offers incredible growth potential and being first to market gives Pikl the upper hand to lead the way in satisfying the needs and safeguarding the assets and income of short-term letting hosts.

“Having worked with Louise for several years at Aviva and RAC, I was always impressed by her vision, energy and ‘can-do’ attitude which she still possesses in droves today.

“To be successful in any business, I truly believe that you need to be able to back the person that is the chief executive as much as the business model itself.

“In fact, it’s even more important in a founder-led business such as Pikl and Louise is definitely someone I am backing to have a very successful chief executive career.”
