PRIMIS dealt with record number of broker queries in February

PRIMIS Mortgage Network's product desk, which assists brokers in all key areas of the market, handled 2,642 inbound queries from appointed representative advisers in February which is an all-time record.

This is compared to the monthly average of 2,083 in 2020.

During February, the top queries from brokers included lending for borrowers with low credit scores or those with high debt-to-income ratios and lending for overseas clients.

PRIMIS’ product desk also assisted advisers with a variety of queries relating to the protection market.

These included queries about which life cover policies came with additional features for clients and whether providers offering critical illness cover could take multiple and/or complex conditions and any exclusions regarding these.

PRIMIS was also approached by brokers asking about the maximum coverage income protection customers could receive after having deferred payments and the minimum deferral periods available to clients.

The product desk team at PRIMIS is currently operating an email and call back only service while COVID-19 restrictions remain in place.

Vikki Jefferies, proposition director at PRIMIS, said: “February was another record month for the PRIMIS product desk as our team worked hard to support brokers with a range of queries.

"In particular, we saw a surge in the number of queries related to complex credit cases as the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

"Providing advisers with the resources and tools they need to help their business thrive is at the heart of the PRIMIS proposition, and it is clear from today’s figures that the product desk team is a key part of this.

“Over the coming months, I hope to see more of our brokers utilising the support available within the network to become more knowledgeable on the mortgage market and showcase this in conversations with clients – something which will stand them in good stead for the future.”
