The special offer, running between 8th September and 7th November, aims to boost the Protection market following the traditional summer lull.
It means that customers buying Life Cover, Serious Illness Cover,
Income Protection or a Relevant Life Policy can have their premiums reduced by 5%, compared to their standard rates, for the life of the policy.
The offer also gives all new Vitality Optimiser customers who take out their policy during the period a free Vitality Healthcheck through partners RoadtoHealth.
Available at local pharmacies, the Vitality Healthcheck encompasses BMI measurements, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose readings.
The health check not only provides customers with peace of mind through understanding their current health, it also rewards them with Vitality points to help them kick start their engagement with the programme.
PruProtect marketing and distribution director Justin Taurog said: “Vitality Optimiser has been a huge success since we launched it a year ago and it now contributes more than 40% of our new business volume.
“Despite the initial discount offered, average premiums for this product are higher than non-Vitality Optimiser new business as customers have purchased a richer benefit mix, resulting in better outcomes for both the client and adviser. We want to continue to drive engagement with Vitality among our clients as well as providing a much needed “back to school” boost to the sector.”
