Salt Commercial expanding

The lender, part of Derbyshire Building Society's specialist lending division, has made no secret of its grand plans to build on its first year's growth and January saw the lender move to a new, purpose-built, Midlands office. This is in addition to its existing commercial lending hub in Manchester which opened in May 2007.

Having written over £350 million of completed business in its first full year, Salt Commercial has plans to double that figure this year, with future business projections reaching over £1 billion worth of lending by 2009.

"This is an exciting time for Salt Commercial and our business introducers," said George Eleftheriou, Salt's head of commercial lending. "We're committed to the commercial market and have set ourselves significant goals in terms of projected business. Our introducers have been pleased with our approach to commercial lending and we're confident that we'll grow new business significantly in 2008 and beyond. Our funding for commercial business is already giving us a significant advantage in being able to plan and commit to the market and, from the feedback we're receiving, many are relieved to have a funding source on which they can rely in these challenging times."
