ScotWid appoints Martin Fleming as MD

Scottish Widows Bank has appointed Martin Fleming as its new managing director, starting today.

Fleming was previously director of motor operations and service management, consumer finance at Lloyds Banking Group.

His experience in intermediary channels spans the past 20 years, including consultancy roles at AXA insurance and Britannia Building Society, strategy, change and IT roles at Clerical Medical, retail strategy and finance director at RBS as well as chairman of RBS Independent Financial Services.

He joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2013 and will now report into Mike Jones, managing director of intermediaries and specialist brands at Lloyds Banking Group.

Jones said: "In the past few years we have successfully restructured and simplified our business model with a clear focus on sourcing intermediary business and a more efficient operation as a result.

"I know Martin is excited by the prospect of leading Scottish Widow Bank forward. I know he will make the best of the opportunities for our customers, for brokers and for the brand."

Fleming will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Scottish Widows Bank and, along with the rest of the Scottish Widows Bank board, its future strategy.

Fleming added: "Scottish Widows Bank is a great brand, with a committed team and a reputation for excellent products and service. I'm looking forward to the challenge, and leading it into the next stage of growth."
