Simon Markey to leave OneFamily

Simon Markey will be stepping down from his role as chief executive of OneFamily.

After seven years in the role, Markey (pictured) will leave the position on 1 January 2020.

Teddy Nyahasha, who has been chief finance officer at the lifetime mortgage lender since 2016, will take over as chief executive.

Markey said: “It’s been my pleasure to lead this business over the past seven years.

“With Teddy as chief executive, supported by the board and our strong executive team, I am confident I am leaving the business in the best possible hands.”

OneFamily has hired Jim Islam as its chief finance officer.

Islam joins on 1October from Lloyd’s of London where he was head of group finance.

The lender has appointed both Islam and chief commercial officer, Nici Audhlam-Gardiner to its board of directors.

Nyahasha added: “I am honoured to have been appointed as the new chief executive of OneFamily and am looking forward to working with the board and other colleagues to continue delivering our ambitious strategy.

“This is a good time to be part of OneFamily and we face the future with confidence. I am also delighted that Jim Islam and Nici Audhlam-Gardiner are joining the board.”
