Mike will be responsible for all the computer systems and hardware within head office and at the four regional offices in the UK and Northern Ireland.

SMS, which completes over £100 million of mortgages every month, has invested heavily in on line facilities. A new extranet, The Porthole, allows intermediaries access to real time case management from AIP, KFI, application and case tracking through to completion. As IT Manager, Mike Tinney’s job is to ensure that SMS has the hardware and systems to support the sales and administration and communications functions within the business.

Kelvin Cooper, managing director of SMS, said, “Mike is taking on a vital job for us. SMS ‘s future success will rely just as much on our IT as it does on our flair for mortgage marketing and the human touch for which we are rightly proud. Mike’s experience will be invaluable in the years to come and we are pleased to welcome him to SMS.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mike Tinney said,” I am looking forward to the challenge my new role entails. SMS is a rapidly growing company with a focus on IT solutions for its customers. Delivering a seamless service for those working within the company will mean that SMS will be able to offer more to its customers in the future.”
