The expansion into Turing House will be the epicentre for the company’s equity release advisory firm Key, housing a customer engagement team, estate planning department, business quality control team and the businesses referral arm Key Partnerships.

He moves into this role within the group having previously held the position of managing director at Primetime Retirement, a brand within KR Group.

Key Retirement has today rebranded as Key, with a TV advertising campaign with the strapline ‘good advice is key’. 

The move will see the group expand into providing intermediary partners with a whole of market equity release and later life lending proposition for their customers.

Groves has over 20 years’ experience within the insurance and retirement sectors, leading Partnership Assurance, later Partnership Plc, where he progressed to group chief executive.

Key’s aim is to take its total equity release adviser count to more than 200 across the UK through next year.

After the move Key Retirement’s chief executive Colin Taylor has retired after 20 years at the helm, with Simon Thompson, formerly deputy CEO, taking his place.
