Third of landlords unhappy with rental system

Over a third of landlords (37%) feel the current UK rental system is not fit for purpose because letting agents are failing to secure new tenants.

Research by LetBritain reveals that nearly a quarter (23%) of landlords claim their property has sat empty for an extended period of time.

A third (34%) are turning to risky online websites like Gumtree or Facebook rather than using a letting agent.

Fareed Nabir, founder and chief executive of LetBritain, said: “Today’s research presents a number of concerning insights into the difficulties faced by the Britain’s vital landlord community.

“Clearly a faster, more affordable and transparent system is required to support the market of 2017 for both landlords and tenants.”
