Tipton has busiest month since 2008

Richard Newton, the Tipton’s chief executive, said what sets the society apart is how it processes mortgage applications.

Tipton and Coseley Building Society processed £9.72m worth of applications in February – the most since £11.02m in September 2008.

Richard Newton, the Tipton’s chief executive, said what sets the society apart is how it processes mortgage applications.

He added: “Unlike the bigger names in the industry we don’t credit score applicants. We don’t believe that one size fits all and we prefer to assess all applications on a case-by-case basis.

"We've also worked hard over the past few months to widen our mortgage portfolio and have recently launched competitive buy-to-let products and 100% LTV family assist loans for first-time buyers.

“To process more than £9m worth of applications last month suggests our sensible approach to lending combined with competitive products is paying off.”
