Universal goes interactive for intermediaries

The main section of the site is devoted to providing customers with clear and concise information on mortgages, loans, savings and investments. However Universal has also included an entire area for introducers.

Kevin Robinson, chief executive of the Universal Building Society, commented: “The new website is part of our ongoing commitment to bring improvements to our service through the use of new technologies. Not only is this a site aimed at the consumer, it is also an online resource for introducers. We have recognised the importance of providing introducers with quick, up to date information and we believe this has been achieved through the internet site.”

All introducers receive a password that will allow them to access a secure area. From this section they can access a mortgage calculator, information about lending criteria and download an application form. Perhaps most important is the ability to receive a quick in-principle decision online.

As well as these resources, introducers have access to a microsite builder. Companies and individuals can build their own free microsite which they can edit and update through their own secure administration area. Each microsite can display logos and three pages of information including contact details
