Stockport’s Vernon Building Society has launched a financial advice service for its members in partnership with advice provider Wren Sterling.
Stephen Bracegirdle, an independent financial adviser at Wren Sterling, will offer advice on a range of needs including pensions, investments and life insurance.
Ian Keeling, director of sales and marketing at the Vernon, said: “Wren Sterling are well established and experienced in working with the building society sector. They can recommend products from the whole of the market to meet the needs of our customers.
“Our members are diverse and we expect that most can benefit from financial advice whatever their stage in life.
“Research suggests that many find financial advice inaccessible and expensive – our relationship with Wren Sterling challenges this by enabling our customers to book an appointment with an adviser at their local branch for a full review of their financial needs.”
Colin Hall, director of partnerships at Wren Sterling, added: “Wren Sterling’s partnership with the Vernon is our eleventh in the building society sector.
“Through our experience, we have a deep understanding of what Building Society members are looking for from a financial adviser and choice is at the heart of our offering.
“Our independence means we can recommend products from multiple providers, which gives our clients peace of mind that they’re receiving advice tailored to their unique situation.
“As always, the first meeting is at our expense with no obligation to proceed.”
